Is dual purpose device the best option? When deciding on buying a new GPS Sat Nav there are a few questions that you need to ask yourself and others to find out which is best for you. You have a choice between dedicated handheld devices, dual functionality such as mobile phone with GPS, integrated in car sat nav or a portable sat nav system.

Is an integrated car sat nav system a wise choice?Other useful features that are not immediately obvious include:

  • speed camera location warning so that you can ensure that you/ are driving correctly for the appropriate road conditions.
  • Bluetooth integration with your mobile phone and in car entertainment system so that traffic information, directions etc... can easily heard.
  • Finally, and most crucially, is to know how accurate the navigation system is. You have heard of tales where drivers have been taken up disused farm tracks as that is the nearest route as the "crow flies" :).
  • The best option here is to take advantage of Which?'s 30 day £1 trial and find out more from their extensive tests

The main things to consider are:
    • Budget
    • User reviews
    • Reliability of brand & Best Buy (source Which?)
    • What features are useful to you? Speed camera locations, European maps, etc...
    • Dedicated GPS sat nav or dual function device
    • How accurate are the directions?
We need reviews on the following GPS Sat Nav. Do you know someone who has one of these?
